(Big Fish Missions/Big Fish Dive Team News)

  • PLEASE Join Us!!! (July 2, 2009) Our partner organization, Wellspring of Life, has gained custody of 10 orphans in Honduras. The orphanage is Number7-the Widow's Mite. Bob and Joyce Coder are now living fulltime in Honduras to oversee the caretaking and love for these children who have been in very bad situations their whole life, until now! The Coder's are open for mission teams who would like to come in and work with them in the orphanage, drilling fresh water wells in Honduras or other ministries. For more information or if you would like to join us in supporting them, contact us or visit, www.wellspringoflife.org! May God bless you for your giving!

  • PLEASE PRAY!!! (June 2, 2009) We received this update over the weekend from Rev. Coder who was in Honduras when the earthquake hit. As a result we have a truck stuck on a ship in Puerto Cortes due to the port cranes collapsing and some damage to the orphanage housing 11 children that Wellspring of Life is attempting to gain custody of. These 11 children have been abused and exploited by the current orphanage administrator, Father Vincente. While Wellspring waits the legal process to aquire the children, they continue to suffer. Please ask God how you can help! Rev. Coder writes:

I will tell  you that this trip has been extremely testing and doesn´t seem to have let up much.  I have spent a day stranded between the borders, the next day stranded on the highway, endured our truck´s mechanical problems, been disappointed with the lack of progress at the orphanage, spent a day putting on a swivel that should´ve gone on in one half hour, been through a very harrowing earthquake, cancelled a drill team because of unknown conditions, heard that Father Vincente has left the country for a month (undoubtedly simply trying to outwait us), spent $900 on truck repair, made phone call after phone call about our truck in Puerto Cortes ( the port is closed, no elec. and the cranes have collapsed) etc., etc. The latest on the orphanage: I inspected the building and found many cracks, some of them rather large, took the girls to a beauty parlor today to have their hair washed, dryed, cut, styled, and nails done...they think they´re the berries.  Took the boys some ice cream and told them they were in charge of it and only those to whom they gave permission could have any of it, including staff and the girls when they returned.  Found out one of the staff took exception to being told she couldn´t have any and she hit Cesar three times with a belt!  I have secured a meeting with a judge on Tues. morning 8:00 a.m. here...10:00 a.m. eastern.  Told Vivian of the cracks in the walls and she´s going to try to push for withdrawal on that basis. I'm pushing the buttons I can see to push, but it is very frustrating and difficult to see the disappointment on the children´s faces as I leave each day.  It´s also getting very expensive, so please make your pleas for support!

  • "DIVE INTO LIFE!"-Our plans for starting this ministry have been placed on hold, please check back in the future...
